In a previous thread, I posted a way to produce stretchable big operators. I
have now updated that example file so that we can now write \limits and
\nolimits after the big operator command.

The new version is available from:
http://andrew.hostse.com/tex/documents/stretchbigops/stretchbigops.tex
http://andrew.hostse.com/tex/documents/stretchbigops/stretchbigops.pdf

This description is from the file:

%% THIS FILE DEFINES THE COMMANDS:
%%   \rusum\(no)limits_{<sub>}^{<sup>}{<operand>}
%%   \ruprod\(no)limits_{<sub>}^{<sup>}{<operand>}
%%   \ruint\(no)limits_{<sub>}^{<sup>}{<operand>}
%%   \ruoint\(no)limits_{<sub>}^{<sup>}{<operand>}
%%   \ruoiint\(no)limits_{<sub>}^{<sup>}{<operand>}
%%
%% WHICH PRINT BIG OPERATORS WHICH STRETCH TO COVER
%% THE HEIGHT OF THE <operand>.
%% \(no)limits REPRESENTS EITHER \limits OR \nolimits
%%     AND IS OPTIONAL.
%% _{} AND ^{} ARE BOTH OPTIONAL AND MAY BE
%%     IN ANY ORDER.
%%
%% THAT IS, \rusum ETC. BEHAVE JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BIG OPERATORS
%% WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT THEY NEED ONE COMPULSORY ARGUMENT
%% WHICH IS THE OPERAND.
