Try your test file with more fonts from MS Losedos!

There is one more possible check: make XeTeX just create the XDV file  
and then invoke xdvipdfmx manually (and also check which xdvipdfmx  
executable gets used) with option -vv or even -vvv. Or try this test  
with one command invocation:

	xelatex -output-driver="xdvipdfmx -vv" file

Actually you could check all the other fonts with this last command.  
This might help to see whether the xelatex executable fails or it's  
the xdvipdfmx executable – and I presume it's this time not the  
latter! The names \zf at basefont and \zf at fontspec look like a fontspec  
issue. So the final test should be either without fontspec or in  
plain XeTeX ...
