Yes, you could use an explicit filename. But then you lose some of the
useful features of xetex and fontspec, such as loading a whole font
family with a single, simple command; correctly using optical-sized
variants (where applicable), etc.
*Much* better to only install one version of the font. Why would you
want to have both installed simultaneously?
