Yes, it is. In such a case you would have:
\setotherlanguage{greek}
without any option in your preamble. In the text you would write:
\begin{greek}[variant=ancient]
...
\end{greek}
or:
\begin{greek}[variant=monotonic]
...
\end{greek}
