And it's very nice to see it from an old time LyX developer! I retired 
from LyX some years ago, but still follow the development. Did you see 
that LyX is finally Unicode based? There is still no built in XeTeX 
support, but it should be a small patch.

I'm very impressed of how closely you replicated the mind map with all 
the features, and probably even improved upon it. I'm reading the code, 
and although my TeX and Japanese is rusty, it seems that it should be 
possible to decode it and use it as a cook book for how to do it in the 
program.

P.s. Comapping does not do Japanese yet, because it uses an embedded 
font without the necessary glyphs. It's on the todo list, but don't hold 
your breath.
