Dear all (or maybe Jonathan, Akira?),

xdvipdfmx seems to be unable to embed PDFs on Windows Vista (or is gswin32 v8.54 the culprit?). This is what i tried:

On Windows Vista:
xelatex test.tex -->no pictures in output PDF

xelatex --no-pdf test.tex
xdvipdfmx test.xdv -->no pictures in output PDF

Taking that xdv (created on Vista) and running xdvipdfmx on my Powerbook works. Here the logs:
Windows Vista:
C:\TeX-Dokumente>xdvipdfmx PhD-Thesis.xdv

Do you have any idea what could cause this problem? UAC is swiched on (-->Programms are not allowed to write in system directories), but I executed the command line using "Run as Adminstrator". I used the newest compilation of w32tex. The error "Interpreting special command.. failed" thems to differ: When I do the same with my a big document (about 200 Pages, >50 figures), I get also a perfect pdf, just now pictures and >50 error messaages from xdvipdfmx saying "Interpreting special command bcolor (ps:) failed"
