[XeTeX] buggy hyphenation in XeTeX?

Have you tried entering the problem word(s) in the \hyphenation{...}  
exceptions (for the appropriate language)? That should allow you to  
override whatever the patterns are finding, and might be simpler than  
solving the underlying problem right now, if you're under time  
constraints.
