thank you very much, it seems to me i got this part to work!  
unfortunately i also decided to upgrade xetex (maybe that's not the  
problem, don't know exactly), so i now have correct russian standard  
phrases etc. but no fonts anymore :'( (see other thread on "missing  
italics")
