To be on the safe side, I would suggest running the Configure stage  
of the TeX i-Package, in Expert mode, and make sure CLI Activation is  
selected as one of the actions to perform:

This action is precisely what you want, and it's probably better to  
let i-Installer do it for you. It will do so by modifying:

	/private/etc/csh.login
	/private/etc/profile
	/usr/share/misc/man.conf
