Thankyouthankyouthankyou! I thought I was going crazy and/or doing some perfectly drivelling thing wrong. Vertical spacing is now exactly as it should be and all is right with the world.
Printing presents no problems, though I am printing to an HP inkjet -- not a networked PostScript printer.
I should also point out that I have tested 0.82 with a number of OT fonts -- Brioso Pro, Zapfino Extra, Adobe Garamond Pro and Missa Solemnis AS for example -- as well as some Type 1 fonts that I have converted to OT using FontLab, and everything is working as expected.
The only version of Acrobat that I have is version 5 -- and so far all of the PDFs open fine in it.
Thank you again.
