Dear member,

In July, UK-TUG ran a very successful course for LaTeX beginners. We
have a number of people on the waiting list for a repeat presentation,
and so I am in the initial planning stages for 2011.

The July course was run by Nicola Talbot and me: two people for the 21
people attending was about the right ratio. I am keen to run another
course in the first half of 2011, and Nicola is busy until the summer.
I'm therefore hoping that one or more other UK-TUG members might be able
to help run a course, with me taking the 'lead' role.

The idea would be to run a one day course, probably in London (my
employers have a site there) or in Cambridge. The course material is all
introductory and general: using LaTeX, sections, bibliographies,
including graphics. As I say, the plan would be form me to take a lead,
and then for both me and the volunteer(s) to help the students work
though the concepts presented.

Based on the last course, travel to the venue and lunch for those
running the course will be covered as part of the fee charged to
students. So the only requirement from volunteers is time!

If anyone is interested in helping out, drop me a line directly and we
can discuss the detail.

Joseph Wright
