Hello,
       I am facing a problem with displaying the list of examples in
an alphabetical order -- regardless of the order of their occurance.

I tried the following:

      \newlistof{example}{exp}{\listexamplename}
      \newcommand{\example}[1]
      {%
         \refstepcounter{example}
         \addcontentsline{exp}{example}{\protect\numberline{}#1}
     }

The command \listofexample at the beginning of document adds the list.
But I want it sorted alphabetically.

I mean instead of:
    Basic Statistics . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 324
    Actuarial Life Tables . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 453

It should be:
    Actuarial Life Tables . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 453
    Basic Statistics . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 324

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
