[Tugindia] How to remove bold face from section headings

Copy the following lines to your TeX document, at the top (preamble)

\makeatletter
\renewcommand\section{\@startsection {section}{1}{\z@}%
                                   {-3.5ex \@plus -1ex \@minus -.2ex}%
                                   {2.3ex \@plus.2ex}%
                                   {\normalfont\Large}}
\makeatother

It is working, hope this will work for you.

Dear Friends,
              In article class the \section command produces a section
number and a section heading in bold faces. If one does not want to produce
it in bold face, what should she/he do ? Please suggest. Thanking all
