[Tugindia] Chapter numbers

Dear friends,

I am facing one problem while writing my thesis.
My thesis have 3 parts. I want the chapters to be numbered as
1.1,1.2,1.3.. 2.1, 2.2 ... etc.

So subsequently the sections numbers will be 1.1.1, 1.1.2 etc.

Can any body help me in this?
