[Tugindia] disabling caption in subfigure but not text

Hi,

I would like to add below a figure some text but without the caption.  I am using the
subfigure package.  Is there any efficient way to do apart from using subfigure but
using figure env itself?
  
i.e.
        SUBFIGURE
        Time (seconds)
        Fig. 1

and not,
         SUBFIGURE
         (1.1) Time (seconds)
         Fig. 1 Variation of pattern.
