[Tugindia] jpeg figures not accepted in pdflatex

im trying to include a jpeg figure in my report. i was told that pdflatex 
can not only take eps figures but also jpg ones......but it showed error. i 
was using graphix package. how can i include jpg versions of pictures 
instead of these eps ones....
