[Tugindia] Pagenumber in Landscape mode

Hi,
     While using the landscape mode, how do I get the page number along the 
longer edge instead of along the shorter edge which is the default for a two 
column format.

      Secondly, somehow the left page margin for the pages in landscape mode 
is way too high. I am forced to use \hspace{-2.0in} to get my figures with 
in the page.  My code is given below

Is something wrong above ??  Is there a better way ????
