Add "mayavi"  (http://mayavi.sf.net) for 2D/3D scientific data
visualization.  It is written and maintained by "Prabhu Ramachandran" one
of the founding members of Chennai Linux User Group, who is currently
doing his Ph.D. in Aeronautics at IIT Madras.
