[Tugindia] Figures in three columns

Dear Users

How can I put figures in three columns of a page?
I tried minipage but couldnot.

What i write was
\begib{figure}[..]
\centering
\begin{minipage}[b]{0.45\textwidth}
\subfigure[]{\resizebox{5cm}{...}{
\includegraphics{filename1}}}
\end{minipage}
\hspace{1cm}
\centering
\begin{minipage}[b]{0.45\textwidth}
\subfigure[]{\resizebox{5cm}{...}{
\includegraphics{filename1}}}
\end{minipage}
\hspace{1cm}
\centering
\begin{minipage}[b]{0.45\textwidth}
\subfigure[]{\resizebox{5cm}{...}{
\includegraphics{filename}}}
\end{minipage}
\end{figure}
And I have defined \textwidth=16truecm in the preamble

Can anyone tell me where is the wrong and what is tobe doned
