[Tugindia] How to add tree type structure?

Hello all,

I am a college student, and a new user of LateX2e. I
am using MiKTeX and WinEdt. I am writing some
chemistry notes and wish to know how I can create a
tree type stucture such as this:
      
  |---Compound
  |--|
     |
     |--|
        |
        |....Compounds..

The dashed/dotted lines being complete lines.

Something like that of a Linux Directory structure
rather than using Microsoft's Draw etc but utilising
only TEX/LaTeX.
