[Tugindia] improving quality of figures in eps..

when i converted figures in jpg to eps through a jpg2eps convertor readily 
available in the net, and finally created a pdf copy from the .dvi 
file....the picture quality reduced drastically...how can i improve it
...or make a conversion without much loss in clarity..
