[Tugindia] Recommended fonts ??

Can someone explain please what fonts under
LaTeX2e/MikTeX/TeX are recommended for installation
for predominantly Projects in English. 
 Many guides/docs cannot get all fonts loaded when
opened as .dvi, at least this is the message that
appears. Despite loading the computer modern fonts,
the message keeps appearing.

 Also there happens to be a `bug' in the MikTeX
updater, as each time the following message:
miktex-tetext is not a known package', appears when
updating.
