I used David Leung's page on multilingual processing while tring to use
ArabTeX:
http://www.ecf.utoronto.ca/~yeungda/languages/latex/
David's page is meant specifically for users of MikTeX.
I use Linux so I'm not using MikTeX.
My problem is stated at:
http://groups.google.co.in/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=36d5cc39.0308060826.728180d7%40posting.google.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Darabtex%2Bfaraz%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26selm%3D36d5cc39.0308060826.728180d7%2540posting.google.com%26rnum%3D1
I could not find the "localtexmf" folder referred to on that page.
I think I couldnt find it because David's page was meant for those using
MikTex.
So I put the mentioned files and subdirs, in /usr/share/texmf, in the (what
I thought) appropriate place.
ALso, I could not Run the command "initexmf -u" as he had asked because
there was no such
command in my system.
Again, I think this is because it was meant for those using MikTeX.
I'm not getting any output, and my complete program and TeX's response is
stated at the
URL above.
I am sure that my source file (also at the above URL at google groups) is
correct
because I mailed it to David and he is getting the appropriate output.
I am quite sure that the problem is that my installation(font) files are
not
in their correct place becuase I get the following message from TeX
*****
! Font U/xnsh/m/n/10=xnsh14 at 14.40002pt not loadable: Metric (TFM)
file not f
ound.
<to be read again>
relax
****
So I need help on where to move appropriate files, and also
what to do about the error mesg regarding TFM files.
Thanks a lot.
regards,
Mumbai,
Faraz Hussain.
