	Sorry, I didn't pay attention to that.

	However, I've just reinstalled the LaTeX-system in order to be able
	to hopefully reproduce the situation and answer your question:

		So, I'm not sure of having been able to reproduce the situation.

	only my own (user's) .bash_profile, that is, with "umask 0077"

	(IMHO, software installation ought to be independent of that, right?)

	I have received no such warning.
