Meanwhile I've ConTeXt/LuaMetaTeX working for a multi user installation.  As
fmtutil/mktexlsr do not apply anymore I've now a few patches to be sure that 
mtxrun as well as context and luametatex (called by mtxrun for e.g. create the
formats) will store their tree/font db's as well as formats below /var/lib/texmf
