Thank you . Now I am seeing the diff between  good.txt vs bad.txt
$> cp macOS-12-Monterey-test-dick-alt.txt good.txt; cp
macOS-12-Monterey-test-dick.txt bad.txt ; perl -i -pe 's{0x[a-f0-9]+}{}g'
bad.txt good.txt; perl -i -pe 's{test-dick-alt.dvi}{est-dick.dvi}g' bad.txt
