Encouraged by Apostolos Syropoulos's positive report of Mon, 23 Dec
2019 20:23:20 +0200 on this list, today I downloaded a fresh TeX Live
source code snapshot.

I am pleased to report that it built without problems on a fresh
install on a physical machine earlier today of FreeBSD 13.0-CURRENT on
amd64 (== x86-64), from an ISO image downloaded two days ago from

	https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/snapshots/amd64/amd64/ISO-IMAGES/13.0/FreeBSD-13.0-CURRENT-amd64-20191219-r355889-disc1.iso

That O/S is a bleeding edge development release, with clang family
compiler versions 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0, and gcc family
compiler versions 6.5.0, 7.5.0, 8.3.1 20191129, 9.2.0, and 10.0.0
20191201 (experimental), all of which I have installed from the binary
package system. Clisp is available there too, as version 2.49.93+.

Asymptote built without problems

There are 452 executables in our $prefix/texlive/2020/bin/amd64-freebsd130
directories.

The differences between the 2019 and 2020 directories are:

2019/bin/amd64-freebsd has biber, getnonfreefonts, ketcindy, while
2020/bin/amd64-freebsd130 lacks those three, but has luajithbtex.

I'm now doing similar build experiments on other architectures.

As usual, I'll report build progress at

	http://www.math.utah.edu/pub/texlive-utah-2020/

but that site may not be up until later this week.

The alias

	http://www.math.utah.edu/pub/texlive-utah

still points to

	http://www.math.utah.edu/pub/texlive-utah-2019/

and will remain that way until I have a reasonable number of binary
packages available for 2020.

Companion Web sites suffixed 2016, 2017, and 2018 remain available for
historical purposes, and for older systems that lack the C++ compiler
support needed for recent XeTeX and Unicode librarty (libicu) source
code.
