We run config.guess, which should do the right thing. What does config.guess return on the system at hand? You can get the current version from, e.g., http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnulib.git/plain/build-aux/config.guess It's also in the TL tree as tlpkg/installer/config.guess, among other places. -k
