I have found some links:

* http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10380976/git-add-i-keeps-returning-perl-no-user-error-on-mac-osx-lion
* https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2376886?tstart=0

It seems like a bug in Perl as shipped by OS X.

I had some other problems like a failing DNS:
* http://lists.apple.com/archives/unix-porting/2010/Jul/msg00001.html

Starting the build process via LaunchDaemons rather than manually (and
then disconnecting from ssh) fixed the issue with DNS. Maybe it will
also fix the problem with Perl, or I will try the latest Perl version.
