I have looked through pmpost-mp1.999 and upmpost-mp1.999.
I'm afraid that you don't know the latest texk/web2c/pmpostdir.
The pmpost and the upmpost sources have been beautifully unified
by Peter in a unique directory texk/web2c/pmpostdir.
Thus pmpost-mp1.999 and upmpost-mp1.999 are not needed.
