My question: why is mtxrun not a symlink as well, No irremediable reason, is just a function of the way the Makefiles are set up, etc. Let's change it next year instead of playing it with now, since there is zero functional difference. Plenty of other scripts are copies instead of links, and it doesn't hurt anything. karl
