Unfortunately, uname isn't in sync with the commonly used Apple numbers.
I'm writing this on a Snow Leopard machine, OS X 10.6.8. But

	uname -a

gives

	Darwin Kernel Version 10.8.0: Tue Jun  7 16:33:36 PDT 2011

The machine with the problem reports

	Darwin Kernel Version 9.8.0: Wed Jul 15, 2009

So I think Nelson's server is indeed running Leopard.
