In any case, I think that the fact that now 'xetex' is built linked to 
cygicu*dll could cause problems when one has also the 'icu' Cygwin 
packages installed.

The cygicu*dll, which 'xetex' needs, are a little different from those 
shipped with Cygwin packages. And I think the dlls, built along with 
xetex, should go to the 2008/bin/i386-cygwin directory... or NOT?
