Well, I am not sure what actually did the trick. I did set some
additional defines for CFLAGS taken from the Debian packages, but I
guess the most important was
	- --disable-mmap
	- ulimit -SOMETHING muchbigger
the former was mentioned in unix/PLATFORM (afair), the later was output
from the configure script.
