Also if working under most Windows versions, it's possible to assign an
unused drive letter to a document path root, and use relative path's from
there in *tex for document trees (even avoiding spaces in the lower
branches of the tree under your control)...

Similar techniques (but obviously not with drive letters) are available in
Linux symbolic links etc.

If you 'trust' TeXworks and your *TeX installation ...

In Windows if you face too many file permission issues, consider creating a
special Administrator account for running TeXworks/*TeX etc only.

Or you can start TeXworks with top level elevated privileges. This could be
done in a batch file or PowerShell script - where you can also set useful
additional path elements and environment varibles.
