[texworks] .aux files

I get the error message "runaway argument?" at the location in my
preamble
"\newcommand{\dat}[1]{\begin{flushright}{#1}\end{flushright}\vspace{14mm}}".
Do I have to eliminate all existing .aux files before compiling a new
.tex file?

My Miktex Console is updated and indicates no error. When compiling a
.tex file the error above appears after "\begin{document}" followed by
"\include{preamble}". How do I have to handle the .aux file of my
preamble? Should I prepare it myself, or is Texworks doing this?
I am using the .aux file:
