This depends on how you typeset your document.  Using one of the older 
TeX engines, you are limited to the standard TeX fonts. When you typeset 
with XeLaTeX, you can use any font installed on your system.  So if you 
have a blackletter font you like but it is a regular TrueType or 
OpenType font, not in the special TeX format, use XeLateX.  More info is
