[texworks] Font size issues in editor (Windows 8)

When I edit a document on my laptop screen, everything renders as expected.
If I move the window to my external monitor, all font sizes change---some
get bigger, some get smaller---and line and letter spacing appears to be
randomly set (between ~-1 and ~2). If I move the window back to my laptop
screen, the same family of rendering errors persists, although where they
occur may change.
If I close the document when the window is on the external monitor and then
reopen it, it reopens on the external monitor and renders as expected. If I
move the window back to my laptop screen, the rendering errors reappear
until the document is closed and reopened.
Setting editor font size in settings does not seem to fix this problem,
until the editor is closed and reopened.
Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a workaround? This does
not seem to affect any other applications.
