Hi.
I made a snap package of texworks for linux (you can find it here:
https://github.com/ubuntu/snappy-playpen/tree/master/texworks), would
you be interested in releasing it as upstream?
This would enable an easy install of the latest version on different
linux systems, without adding ppas or similar.
The package just needs to know the dependencies to pull to build and run
the program in question. (If you're interested I can explain exactly
what the file contains.)
The version I made pulls the latest tag from github, builds it, and also
includes a simple install of texlive.
To see more of what snap is you can look here(http://snapcraft.io/)
The result is a bundle with the necessary libraries that can be uploaded
to the store (at the moment for ubuntu 16.04 and derivatives) or
downloaded from the website (like the win/mac versions are now).
If you're interested or want to test this let me know.

Cheers,
G Sartor
