[texworks] access to Edit menu - problem with Ctrl-e

How does TexWorks determine the text on the labels? In my German TeXworks
the labels are in German. Is there a file which has the labels inside?
Could this file be extended be defining a label as e.g.&Edit, with the
Ampersand indicating that the E should be Alt-E for the Edit Menu?
