I suppose that you are talking about LaTeX, right?
It's better then to ask on an a mailing list which covers general
questions about TeX/LaTeX, such as texhax:
http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/texhax
In short, LaTeX's \documentclass has an optional argument 'twocolumn'
and there is a multicol package. Both have limitations and you have
to find out first which one suits your needs best.
On the command line, run
texdoc usrguide
texdoc multicol
in order to get the documentation.
Regards,
Reinhard

Microsoft isn't the answer. Microsoft is the question, and the answer is NO.
