Hi,

Don't know if this news is any use or not ...

Thinking of the plans for eventual printing from the previewer, I have just
stumbled across a Google announcement of some code released Nov 3.

"... Today we’re releasing the sfntly <https://code.google.com/p/sfntly/> font
programming library as open source ... "

" ... uses the C++ version to subset fonts for PDF printing ..."

"Starting today, both Java and C++ programmers can use sfntly to quickly
and easily develop code to read, edit, and subset OpenType and TrueType
fonts. The Google Web Fonts <http://www.google.com/webfonts> team uses the
Java version to dynamically subset fonts, and the Chrome/Chromium browser
uses the C++ version to subset fonts for PDF printing."
