[texworks] Texworks quit working (on windows)

You should have done as follows:

(1) stay in the command prompt window in which PATH
    is set to null
(2) go to the binary directory of the TeXworks like
    cd /d c:\somedir\TeXworks
(3) invoke the command TeXworks.exe in the command prompt window:
    .\TeXworks

Did you do like the above?
