One issue is that MacPorts drags in a bunch of duplicate libraries to fill
out dependency trees while Homebrew tries very hard to work with what
is already included with OS X.  This could make a big difference when it
comes to the number of libraries that have to be packed into the TeXworks
application when it comes time to distribute it.
