Yes, but Stephen might be wanting to configure it for a specific path,
bypassing the TeXDistSys Prefs. To do this, just type a slash in the
file selection dialog, and you'll get a pop-up sheet where you can
enter any path, including /usr/local/...etc... (This is a standard Mac
OS X behavior.)
