[texworks] I ran the command latex on a simple file but it errored out on a graphic and gives warnings

I am not entirely convinced that pdfLaTeX (which is what you are 
apparently using, even though you invoke it as "LaTeX") should be using 
the DVIPS back-end —
> (c:/TexLive/2022/texmf-dist/tex/latex/l3backend/l3backend-dvips.def)
> (./Myfile.aux)
> *geometry* driver: auto-detecting
> *geometry* detected driver: dvips

Maybe you need to tell one of the packages that you are loading that you 
are planning to compile using PdfLaTeX, not just LaTeX + DVIPS.  Nothing 
to do with TeXworks, of course, so more appropriate list cc'd.
