following up my earlier message announcing
the revised printing of don knuth's "digital
typography" volume, i've been in touch with
don's editor at csli (stanford's center for
the study of language and informatics).
he reports that csli and their distributor,
the university of chicago press, no longer
have any copies of the original printing,
and any copy of dt purchased from them should
be the new (2012) printing. however,
if the mistake of 1st and 2nd printing
occurs, the purchaser of the DT book
should contact us at pubs at csli.stanford.edu.
i can't speak for amazon or other distributors,
but purchases from the source should be "certain".
(check the listing at the tug "bookstore"
http://tug.org/books/
at presemt there isn't any discount for tug
members for csli publications, but it's being
looked into.)
i will follow up with addison-wesley regarding
the updated (hardcover) printings of the five
volumes of "computers & typesetting", and report.
