[texhax] Is there a way to instruct a (la)tex where to find /include files?

Hello all.

I hope someone can please help me out. I am wondering if there is a way to
instruct the latex program where to load .tex files

For example, something like ;

latex ../package_source/example.tex

where example.tex includes the command ;
