[texhax] hyperref side effect

Dear Texhackers:

I have gotten hyperref running nicely so my pdf has lovely hyper
links, but there is an odd side effect:  my pages are shifted down by
some amount and so the page number goes off the bottom.  Yes, I can:

\topmargin -0.5in % to shift the whole thing up

but I shouldn't have to do it.  Any idea what's the cause and/or how
to avoid it?
