Since no one else has responded to you, a google on "line numbers latex"
pops up as its first entry:

which provides various solutions. I've used the lineno package quite
successfully, though as the above link will tell you, it can play tricks
and interfere with other packages that also play tricks. Some trial and
error will identify which other packages you use might conflict with it.
